๐ŸŽจ Colour ๐ŸŽจ

The use of colour in photography adds a dynamic element
to your images that is very pleasing to the eye.

A dominant colour can become the focal point of the image and draw the eye of the viewer to it.
Too many clashing colours can create an image where the viewer is not sure what to look at first or what to focus on.

It’s very important to isolate colours when trying to create a dramatic image, and this can often be achieved simply by getting close or moving your position.

Colours such as red stand out and are called advancing colours. You’ll notice how strong it is when you have a scene that has only a little red.

Receding colours like blue and green take a background role and are more like supporting actors in a film cast. They recede into the distance and help other colours stand out.

Students Task:

Take photographs of any subject.
Try to think about dominant colour, isolating colour, advancing and receding colours.

Edit your favourite images by carefully increasing the saturation (colour intensity)
& experiment!
