To commemorate its 75th anniversary, the Central Bank of Ireland
is inviting schools across the country to take part in a national art competition.
The Central Bank of Ireland National Art Competition
invites students of all ages to take on the role of coin designers.
Irish collector coins celebrate figures of national importance
Irish collector coins celebrate figures of national importance
and commemorate significant events in Irish history.
In keeping with this tradition, our art competition asks students to take inspiration
from significant people and events from the past 75 years and design their own €2 coin.
Competition rules:
Coin designs must be drawn in either pen/pencil in the form of a circle of 200mm in diameter on an A4 sheet of white paper or card.
The words “Éire” and “2018” should be included on all designs (as per the national side of a €2 coin).
Students do not need to include the surrounding stars in their design.
