Construction Time!
The students use the slab method to construct the form of the basic shape.
The students then begin to model their design to transform it into their desired cake slice.
Painting
The students completed their club built cakes and left them to dry over the weekend. When completely dry the students progressed onto the painting stages after completing a tonal test sheet!
First few layers going on - the students are exploring painting on a new texture! Experimenting realising some brushstrokes appear on the surface, layering thick paint creates blobs but often won't sit well on clay, using a sponge..etc
