we then started to learn new keywords as we moved along such as primary sources.

Here are some important work that needs to be in your sketchbook!! πŸŽ¨πŸ“–

Below are images students work to help you catch up on what you have missed!

πŸ–Œ  - This means write this keyword and defintion at the bottom or top of your page.
πŸ– - This means this is your task/what you have to do.

1. Art Elements!

We explored Dot first by looking at artists who use dots in their work.
We looked at : Roy Lichtenstein, George Seurat (both use very small dots)
Yayoi Kusama - a Japanese artist who is still alive & working today!

πŸ–Created a drawing from your imagination using dots!
πŸ–ŒKeyword: "A dot is a round mark made by a pointed tool"
Here are examples of two students work - use colour if you would like to.

* Homework was then to draw two leaves for homework using line & dots

2. Line -
πŸ–Draw out these types of lines!
πŸ–Œ Keyword: Line " A line is a dot that went for a walk"

 3.  Lines & Pattern πŸ–ŒKeyword : "A pattern is a repeated decorative design."πŸ–Step 1: Measure out 8 boxes using a rulerπŸ–Step 2: Trace around your hand in the middle of the pageπŸ–Step 3: Create different lines in each section, use colour too!

4. Lines & Shape

Artists we looked at Kandinsky & Michael Craig-Martin

πŸ–ŒKeyword Shape: " When a line bends, a shape begins! A shape is a closed line.

πŸ– Create an observational drawing of a cup using line and decorate using shapes & patterns.

5.Lines & Grids.
In class we began to done some research on 'stuff' - we discussed we things we used every day, and think very little about. We used the artists Michael Craig Martins (MCM) work 'Sharpener' and we learned how to grid using numeracy.

πŸ– Step 1. Measure equally 3 boxes down and 3 across using a pencil.
πŸ–Step 2. On coloured sugar paper repeat and measure equally 3 boxes down + 3across
πŸ–Step 3. One box at a time draw in the sharpener lines into the box on your colour paper.
πŸ–Step 4. After using a pencil go over your finished lines with a marker.

 6. Tone - Letters & Shape shading

πŸ–ŒKeyword "Tone is shades in light & dark."
(Tonal Drawing Exercise) Use the images above for help.
πŸ–1. Tonal Grid - this is shading light to dark (changing the pressure on your pencil)
πŸ–2. Apply shading, showing tone to the shapes to show form. (make them look 3D)
(TONES) Use the images above for help.
πŸ–1. Write the word Tones 4 times in big bubble/block writing filling up your page.
πŸ–2. T being the Lightest and S being the darked begin to shade light to dark
Tones 1 - Shading just using a normal pencil
Tones 2 - Shading using 1 coloured pencil
Tones 3 - Shading using Dots (the closer the dots are the darker the area)
Tones 4 - Shading using Lines (the closer the lines are the darker the area)

7. Monochrome & Observational Drawing.

πŸ–ŒKeyword- "Monochromatic - containing or using only one colour in various tones"
